Gemalto PC USB-SL for e-card

The Gemalto PC USB-SL (GemPC USB-SL) is a very flat USB Smart Card Reader based on the GemCore Twin Pro Technology by Gemalto. It is EMV an CCID compliant - very easy to install - and many possibilities to use.

For the GemPC USB-SL are many PC/SC drivers available, reaching from various Linux Distribuitions through MacOS X to current Windows Operating System including the 64 bit editions.

This Smart Card Reader can be used with each Software supporting PC/SC Smart Card Reader, various Windows integrated applications (Logon, VPN, WPA,..) or encryption software like Winmagic or PGP.

One e-card qualifies you for buying one smart card reader, therefore you have to enter your "Kennnummer" of the e-card , which you can find on the back side of your e-card, when placing the order.

If you want to order several readers, than you have to enter several numbers. After checking the first number, you can enter the next one, and so on. (browser have to accept session cookies)

		PRACTICE

There is no driver CD included, you can use this reader with pre-installed USB-CCID standard drivers (e.g. Vista) or install it with MS online Update Service (XP) or download the latest driver for your operating sytem from the manufacturer Gemalto support pages . (with IE or opera, some firefox installations have troubles with download)

The installation of the further necessary software components for using an ecard as citizen card is eased by the a.sign citizen card installer from A-Trust.

You have to configure trustdesk basic (citizen card software) that it accept PINs via standard keyboard (Software PIN) See "Konfiguration und Updates / Konfiguration / Konfiguration im Expertenmodus" check "Software-PINs".
