OMNIKEY 5321 USB RFID

OMNIKEY 5321 USB RFID - Technical Details

INFO & KNOWLEGDE

PC-linked Dual Interface reader, for flexible use of contact and contactless.

PC/SC,
EMV 2000 Level 1,
USB - CCID (CCID only for contact interface), (USB 1.1 und 2.0)
MS WHQL

ATR-Mapping

The ATR of a contactless card is artificially mapped to support these cards through PC/SC. The synchronous cards produce an ATR of T = 0 type, on the other hand the asynchronous cards introduces both T = 0 and T =1 type. You will find more about it in the developers guide (chap. 5)

An ATR-mapping is done with contactless cards - for using them with PC/SC. The newest drivers from OMNIKEY are compliant to the new PC/SC2 Standard 2.01.3 from january 2006, the synchronous api from OMNIKEY isn't necessary anymore.
