The Gemalto SafesITe Express (former Gemplus GemPC Express) is using USB 2.0 For connecting the chipset on the notebook (see www.expresscard.org ). The use of the fast PCI-Express Bus is not necessary, because the communication to the smart card is much slower (more about this fact on our Readertest pages )
