The Athena ASEDrive is a combined USB Smart Card Reader with well known Athena quality and a fingerprint sensor from Upek. Upek is also known for its high quality sensors. The inbuilt area sensor is much easier to handle for the users than than a cheap stripe sensor.
This device can be used for all (classic) smart card applications and in addition with biometric applications and all combinations of these two types (Match on Card). Especially for the latter ones the vertical slot for the smart card is much more ergonomic than the horizontal slot in other combined devices.
Upek's high quality fingerprint scanner can be used with several applications, which support Upek scanners. E.g. for enterprises the Authentication and Single Sign On Appliance solution from Imprivata
, so you can implement biometric Logon and Single Sign on in an easy way.
Home Users may using Upeks Protector Suite QL
for Logon, Unlock, Password store and Vista UACs with Fingerprint. There is also a Version for Apple Macs
available.
