This is a class 3 smart card reader based on the cyberJack® e-com
. The CyberJack® biometric is additionally equipped with a capacitive fingerprint reader based on C-MOS with 256 grey scales. The resolution is 500 dpi with 224 x 288 dots. The verification is a "Match on Reader" verification, the reference data (from the enrollment) is stored in the reader and and also processed and matched on the reader. The biometric data never leaves the reader. If verification is successful the stored PIN to the inserted card and the presented finger is sent to the card. The fingerprint is the replacement of the pin entry, while the standard secure pin entry via Pinpad is still possible. Please note, that this is only valid if the host-software delegates the pin entry to the reader (via ct-api).
Additional a pin can be linked to a second necessary fingerprint, this can be used to build a four-eye-principle for temporary replacements, while no pin has to be passed to anyone else.
