Tools and Services of the Access Client Software

• Card Management Console (CMC) – Allows users to view and manage cryptographic objects on a smart card, change the smart card PIN value, and personalize the smart card.
• Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP) –Supports card applications developed in compliance with Microsoft CryptoAPI (v. 2. )
• Configuration Utility – Enables users to customize the operation of the client software components.
• Diagnostic Utility – Helps users diagnose problems with the smart card system.
• P12 Utility – Imports keys onto the card securely.
• COM libraries – Implementation for the COM environment that acts as a host system-based interface with card commands and applets.
• Smart Card Sign On – Manages user authentication to the card so that users only have to enter their PINs once during a session (depending on system configuration).
• PKCS #11 Library – Supports smart card applications that comply with the PKCS #11 version 2.01 specification.
• Activity Monitor – Enables users to check the state of the smart card and client software.
• Certificate Propagation – Exports certificates from the card into the environment for use by applications.
• Axalto GINA – Allows Windows logon using smart cards for legacy Windows in a non-PKI environment, and supports Axalto Offline Unblock.
• BSI Library – Supports smart card applications that comply with the GSC-IS specification.

Supported Smart Card Reader

You need a standard smart card reader with installed PC/SC drivers, manufacturer tested are the smart card reader of the Reflex series.
