charismathics smart security interface is the Middleware for the plug 'n crypt Sticks from Charismathics as well as for JavaCards, StarCOS, CardOS, Micardo, and other CPU Cards. It contains a CSP, PKCS#11, certificate registration tool and client tools for local administration of a card.

charismathics smart security interface is a middleware, using it, smart card applications, which support PKCS #11 or MS Crypto-API, are allowed to use Hardware-Token like CardOS Smart Cards or USB-Token from charismathics. Smart security interface contains a PKCS #11 and a CSP module, which allows to store and use data (keys) on smart cards. Therefore the token can be used for encryption, authentication and digital signatures, also the initialisation, key generation, pin definition and certificate enrollment can be done. Smart Security Interface is working with PC/SC compliant Smart Card reader and smart cards with CardOS operating system.
