The Classic TPC IS V2 is the successor card of the GemSAFE GPK and therefore the current PKI card (from the Gemplus card series) from Gemalto. The Classic TPC IS is based on a TOP IS GX4 (GemXpresso R4 E36PK) java Smart-Card, whereas the GemSafe PKI-Applet is stored in the ROM, saving valuable EEPROM. TPC IS V2 Java-card has the Classic V2 Applet (PKI-Applet) installed, but consider this java-card is "card manager locked", this means that you can't install further applets onto the card.

Because of the GemSafe Applet, this card is interacting with applications like the GemSafe GPK card, and can be used with GemSafe Libraries for PKI purposes resp. GemSafe Logon. Corequisite the applet, the pre-perso profile has to be fixed, this means that place for the cryptographic keys has to be allocated. Our offered cards hold the standard Pre-Perso Profile.

The preceding Gemalto Classic TPC IS V1 Java-card was also known as GemSafeXpresso 32k or Gemalto SafeSite Xpresso R3.2 32k. Cards with the V1 Applet are still getting produced for existing customers with MOQ - please contact us if you need cards with the V1 Applet

Gemalto Classic TPC IS V2

For use of this card with certificate-based Windows applications like Logon, VPN, S/MIME, SSL-Clientauth etc. you need a GemSAFE Card CSP Version 4.2 SP4 (GemSafe Libraries) with activated support for the V2 Applet in the client-configuration.
The old Windows integrated GemSAFE CSP 1.0 can't be used for this card.

The Classic TPC IS V2 (rev. B) needs a GemSAFE Card CSP (and PKCS#11) Version 4.2 SP4 at least, which is integrated in the Gemalto Classic Client (GemSAFE Libraries) and has to be licenced.
