The Gemalto SafeSite .NET v2+ is also available as hybrid card, with additional contactless chip Mifare Classic 1k or Mifare Classic 4k.
The Gemalto .NET card is best supported in Microsoft infrastructures, (from development to card management) because of the Microsoft Base Smard Card CSP. This CSP is already included in Microsoft Vista and 7, older Versions of the Microsoft operating systems can be updated with the MS Base Smart Card CSP via Online Update. The necessary MiniDriver for the MS Base SC CSP, which holds the minimum card specific informations, is already on the system.

The Gemalto .NET IM V2+ card contains, aside the assembly for the MS Base Smart Card CSP (MiniDriver assembly), and the Protiva OATH OTP Assembly, this means, that this card can generate Protiva One Time Passwords
.
The .NET IM V2+ card is supported by the Microsoft ILM (Identiy Lifecycle Manager/Certificate Lifecycle Manager) and can be managed by this card management system for enterprises. For small and medium sized enterprises Gemalto is offering the Allynis Device Administration Service
(DAS) to manage .NET Cards. Without ILM or DAS you should not use .NET devices in your production environment.
Otherwise Pin-administration can be done via the Pintool(.exe) which is installed together with MS Base SC CSP, an unblock of the PIN can be done via challenge response. The response can be calculated with a tool on the Gemalto website
