Contactless chip cards

Contactless chip cards differ in their power- and data interface from contact cards, which is contactless of course. In former times contactless cards were only memory chip cards, but nowadays you can also find processor chip cards as Dual-Interface chip cards.

The contactless memory chip cards have a fixed logical structure, there is faster success for a developer, but without (asymmetric) cryptographic functions, beyond a pure communication encryption between reader and chip, they are not suitable for applications with higher security requirements.
