Microsoft Windows Server 2003 is vested with ISIS-MTT-Seal. This is a initative of the german ministry of economics and labour for a mandatory standard for signatures, secure e-mail and secure document handling compliant to the requirements of eGovernment-applications.

The ISIS-MTT-Initiative is defining security and interoperability criterias for encryption, electronic signatures and PKI. The target is to set international standards to an interoperability standard. All ISIS-MTT products are compatible among each other. Microsoft is the third company with this seal, after Trust Center DATEV eG and canadian certification service provider Entrust.

The participants of the 2003 founded initiative are the in the TeleTrusT Deutschland e.V. joined signature-infrastructure-provider and the union of the Trustcentersr T7 e.V. In the meantime ISIS-MTT is basis for many tender procedures and PKI-Projects. At the same time the initiative is focused international and should amend existing standards.

The manufacturer have to prove, that their products are compatible to the ISIS-MTT standard. Therefore they run the ISIS-MTT Testbed.
