A test environment for an own PKI is built very fast using Microsoft products. We wrote a short step-by-step guide for installation and configuration of a microsoft ca until you can do your first smart-card logon to your Test-domain. (but it isn't translated to english at the moment, we are sorry!)

The main steps are

- Setup of a test domain (server)
- Installation and configuration of the certificate service (Microsoft-CA) on the server.
- Enrollment of a smart card certificate using Webenrollment
- For using VPN/WLAN: Installation and Konfiguration of RRAS, IAS, Radius, Remote Access Policy
